Daily Bread 1-20-17

Romans 4:20-25

20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;

24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

25 Who was delivered for our offense, and was raised again for our justification.

ref. - Acts 13:30 - But God raised him from the dead.

Isa 53:5 - But he was sounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

This is a testimony of Abraham that confirms God's willingness to help those who believe in him. If we could only have a speck of the faith that Abraham had we would see great things in our lives. But our faith comes through Jesus Christ in that he has already been raised from the dead and also able to live a clean and holy life on this earth. Confirming that God can hold true to his promise if we stand by him in faith. So let's not stagger in unbelief and doubt but stand strong in faith and watch as his promises unfold in our lives as well. This promise was not only to Abraham, or to one person anywhere else for that matter, it is for all who will believe on the one who raised Christ from the dead!! The world might have knocked him down, but God raised him back up from something that the world considers final, death. Our God is capable of lifting us up off the dirt also!! He is a just God, He is a forgiving god, and He will deliver!! What else do we need? Have a great day!!!
