Philippians 4:14,19
14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
ref. - Ph 1:7 - Even as it is meet for me to think of you all, because I have you in my heart; insomuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
Ps 23:1 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
As the people of Philippi grew in the Lord they felt a greater sense of love and responsibility toward Paul and what he was doing. The information and the caring that he had given them had caused them to grow Spiritually and they were gracious in sending and rendering aid to him wherever he was. They also were very instrumental in defending the gospel that they had grown to love and live for. It was not only by their willingness to defend what they had been taught but also by their example in that they were living proof that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and savior to all who will repent and live for Him. What they did not know, and was told to them by Paul, was that no matter what capacity that they helped or served, that God would take care of them in all their needs. As long as they did their part in serving God he would take care of them. Today, we serve at the same capacities and we serve the same God. It is miraculous and unexplainable sometimes how he protects us and takes care of us. The world cannot understand it nor can they figure out how we flourish when we do not partake of the same things as they do. As long as we serve God with our hearts there will also be a desire to help those who have helped us. Not only financially, but more importantly through our defense of the Gospel that we have been given in Jesus Christ. We will support what is being taught and put it into practice in our lives. Our lives and our examples are what will cause worldly people to pay attention to this wonderful gift we have been given. So, in this scripture we not only find that the Philippians received confirmation that they would be taken care of, but we receive our own confirmation as well. We must step out in faith and realize that if we put God first in Jesus Christ that we will also help those that God uses to help us as they move forward in getting this gospel out to the multitudes. Let's be partakers of the same grace that God gave Paul in Jesus Christ and truly say, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." It is the truth, it is possible, it is for us!!!! Have a great day!!!!
