Daily Bread 12-3-16

Proverbs 26:18,19

18 As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,

19 So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am I not in sport?

We need to be careful how we treat one another. When we deal with one another in an unfair or deceitful way we are not only messing with their lives but we are condemning our own calling. When God called us to salvation it was not out of deceit. We did not have to be tricked or lured in. He drew us in with something inside of us that he created. You see, when you know how the motor is made you can make it to run however you choose. So, knowing that God drew us to salvation through the knowledge of our sin and the need for repentance, we must also aid in others being led to him. We must not try to promise things that we have no control over or that were not promised from Him. We must not use tools of the world to try to lure them in. Deceit is not necessary when we have the creator of the universe on our side. If we read this scripture it also says that we cast firebrands, arrows, and death, and claim that it is just Sport. We were just kidding around. It is all part of the game. No, it is not. It is time to deal with one another in honesty, caring for one another in the same way that Christ cared for us. If we lure someone to serve God with false promises and then it doesn't come to fruition, we are responsible for that deceit. So we say, :"well, had to get you in here somehow", and we are liars. The world sees us and laughs at us for trying to use their own devices to lure them in. If we have something spiritual in Christ then why do we promise carnal things? If God is in it there is a change inside of us and that is what we need to be telling the world. All things will change around us in how we look at them, handle them, and approach them. God will do the work, and all the things of the world that we are in need of will be revealed to us and a way to achieve them will be provided. Too many people are not staying saved because the only reason they sought it out was because of promises made that did not come true. Is he going to heal you? is he going to provide you with housing? Is a spouse or family in your future? That is up to him and that book has already been written. The only thing we can do to be a part of it and receive these Biblical promises is to adapt our lives and be transformed into the men and women that he wants us to be. Not overzealous, not trying to do someone elses job, but fulfilling our own salvations and callings in fear of God. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. This is not deceit, this is not a game, there is no excuse, it is scripture and it is true. Follow it and follow Him and you, too, will lead there down the path that they are made to go down in Jesus Christ!! Have a great day!!!
