Daily Bread 11-22-16

1 John 5: 3-5

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievoous.

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the son of God?

ref. - Jn 14:15 - If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Mic 6::8 - He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Jn 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

1 Cor 15:57 - But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is written out as plain as day. If we want peace, we need to follow Jesus. Not meaning peace in the world, no, the world is going to keep on destroying itself. It means, peace within our souls. Peace to know that we are right with the one who makes the eternal decisions in our lives. At first, God brought down a set of rules for a people who had been created to live them, but they drifted away and they failed him. So, when he gave it to the others(Gentiles), he knew what they needed. They needed an example of a Spiritual person to lead them and show them a way that they could achieve. He sent them His Son, in the flesh, Jesus Christ, to help them find their path. Instead of handing them a book of regulations and rules Christ started showing them the result of having a pure heart. He showed them how to walk when the will of God was in a person. And when he had shown them the effects of a clean Spirit within them, he offered the same Spirit to them. He offered them all that he had if they would just surrender from a carnal life to a Spiritual one. Although the troubles went on all around him and the people were at war with him, he kept on taking this way of life to all who would accept it. He even showed them that if they remained obedient to what he had shown them, and what he would put in their minds and on their hearts, they could even face a carnal death in peace and wake up in an eternal paradise. They could face trials in peace. Tribulations in peace. He overcame the world and it is possible for us to overcome the world as well if we could just learn of him and listen to him when he speaks. Now, he will not speak out of the clouds to us, but he has said he will put his Spirit in us and it will lead us and guide us, teach us of all things. And just as he overcame, so shall we in Jesus Christ!!! So let us follow him diligently, and pray for wisdom and patience to be the person that he was on this earth so that our souls will be prepared for the journey that is to come. So let us find that peace and keep it through learning his commandments and keeping them, knowing that it is our way to eternal life!!! Have a great day!!!!
