Daily Bread 11-9-16

Hebrews 2:9,10

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

ref. - Isa 43:21 - This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

Luk 24:46 - And said unto them, Thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

Heb 6:20 - Whither the forerunner if for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.

What makes someone stand out as a leader? Is it their self proclaimed importance? Their abundance of money? Their fancy clothes? Their family name? No, it is when they will go out of their way to do something that they really should not have to do. When they, instead of just lording over others, become an example and shows us the way. It is when they go through things harder than they should have to so that others can prosper. It is when they will sacrifice further and more so that many can prosper. There are very few that do this, and only one who actually suffered death for us. Jesus Christ on this earth was not revered for his brilliance, his fancy speech, his abundance, his bloodline. No, he was, and always will be, remembered for the supreme sacrifice that he gave when he hung on that cross for you and I. The reason that he was considered perfect is because he was perfect. He was willing to show us all that we could conquer any temptation, any stumbling block, anything that this world and this life could throw at us, and remain pure, clean, and free from sin. Not something being taught by gainsaying politicians posing as preachers. But Christ? He said that when he sets us free we will be free indeed from the clutches of sin. Free from the deceitfulness of temptation. He tells us that anything that gets in our way, even though we think it is a mountain we cannot climb, will be moved at the command of our voices. He was given all power and everything was put under him and he displayed that power openly on this earth. He also told us that we, too, could have this power over the things of this earth. He has been put in charge over all mankind and he will always be in charge. So when we think of the greatest man that ever lived, we must look at someone who went through it all to show us the way, and then told us that he would continue on with us until the ends of the earth. That man is Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever!! What will we do today to be that shining example? A bright light that leads others to Christ? If he is in you and the Holy Spirit is in control, just be you and you will outshine the sun in Jesus name!!!! Have a great day!!!
