Daily Bread 11-7-16
2 Timothy 4:2,3
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
ref. - Tit 1:13 - This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound on the faith.
1Tim 4:13 - Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
1 Tim 1:10 - For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and of there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
Does it seem that your preacher is preaching too hard for you? Are you seeking for someone who is a little gentler, kinder, tells you what you want to hear? Be informed today that this is not what they have been instructed and guided by the Holy Ghost to do. These men must, in order to fulfill their calling, be obedient to the same instruction that Paul gave to Timothy when he was teaching him what would make him a minister pleasing to God. The world is full of gainsayers telling people what they want to make them feel all warm and fuzzy but what this world needs is true speakers of the Gospel. As the world and it’s so-called Churches wander away from Biblical doctrine and further into Science, Psychology, Theology, and all other made up forms of understanding, there are still men out there, led by the Holy Ghost, that will cling to the sound doctrine given in the word of God. Why? Because when God calls someone to service he gives them what they need to perform their profession. They are doing exactly what God put them here to do to shape you and mold you into the man or woman that God made you to be. God knows what we need each and every one of us to please him. So, next time you feel like the message came too sharply or you catch yourself in your tender feelings, listen closer, the message is for you. Keep up the good work Preachers and don’t forget, in season and out of season. Never fear to call on God to give you the words that people need to hear. The Church os not a social club, it is not a concert hall, it is not a place to support our families. It is a building created for the Church to come in and worship him in Spirit and in Truth. Be the leader that God called you to be and stand string and firm on what has been given to you! You just correct, you must convict, and you must show them the way to find peace from all that in Jesus Christ. For in no other name shall man be saved than that of Jesus Christ!!! Have a great day!!!
