Daily Bread 10-10-16
3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Ba'al.
5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
ref. - 1K 19:10 - And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts:For the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek y life to take it away.
Ro 9:27 - Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
In this time Elias was beginning to think that they who stood for God and served him wholely with their mind and soul were going to be overcome. He thought that all had turned away from God and that he was alone in his struggle to remain faithful and serve God. But he was assured that not only were there seven thousand others like him, there was another group of men that would serve God through the election of grace! What great news......Elias, you are not alone!!!!!! A lot of times in this present day there are times when we feel like we are representing our Lord and that the world has swallowed up many of our brothers and sisters. It may even cause us sometimes to wonder if our paths are correct. But, be encouraged and have faith, brothers and sisters!! We are not alone!!! Just as God provided Elias with others we will also find others who are willing and dedicated to serving God in Jesus Christ!! Stay in line with what Christ has brought us and let us be that election of grace that God spoke of!! When you think that even the ministers of this world are straying from the Gospel, and if they are of the world they have strayed, do not be afraid! God will provide us with men who will teach us sound doctrine locked in and grounded on what God has brought us in Christ Jesus. Just as God took care of his own in times before Christ, he will also take care of us today if we remain faithful!! His word says that he knows us and he hears our voices! When we see people playing games with their salvation, using Church for other than holy and spiritual things, even turning away from all that God has given them, we must remain stedfast in our beliefs, ever calling on God in the name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and we must be assured that we are not alone!!! This is not a sprint it is a distance that we must cross and if we remain in the Gospel that we have been given in Jesus Christ we will endure to the end, not alone, but with many thousands of others whom God has chosen for greatness too!!! Remember, you are blessed! You are called!! You are chosen!! You are precious in God's eyes!!! And you are not alone!!!! Have a great day!!!
