Daily Bread 8-30-16

Psalms 37:1-4

1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3 Trust in the Lord and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily shalt thou be fed.

4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

ref. - Isa 58:14 - Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Good news to us all today brethren!! We need not worry any longer nor do we need to covet the goods of the heathen!! For our reward will be greater in heaven than anything that the world has to offer!! We will be welcomed into a place where they who have raised their hands and their mouths against us will not dwell!! We think of this life as a long time but there will come a day, brothers, when this short time on earth is just a blink of an eye. There shall come a day when the joy never ends! When tears and sorrow cease to exist!! We must stand firmly and trust in the Lord as he is our gateway to this eternal life that we not only seek but need! As we dwell on this earth let us remain focused on God through the teachings and Gospel that has been brought to us in Jesus Christ. Those who oppose and they who seem to flourish on this earth shall have nothing on us, even as we dwell on this rock, as God will give thee the desires of our hearts! Our desires, though, cannot be desires of this world, possessions, power, wealth,......etc. No, they must be peace, tranquility, patience, joy, fruit of the spirit. You see, if our hearts are right with God the cares of the world will become secondary. The fear of they who can kill the body and not the soul will become just a memory that God will take away!! So do not fret and do not be jealous of them who serve the world. We have a much brighter day and certainly a much better outcome. Read it in the Holy Word, believe it, and know that we serve a living God who will not only take care of us on this earth but also grant us eternal life in a new world that will be so good that the old world will not even be remembered. Just think, the best thing this earth has to offer is not even existent to the least that heaven holds for you and I. So let us delight ourselves in the power and might, the mercy and forgiveness, the wholeness and fullness that is Jesus Christ!!!! Have a great day!!!!
