Daily Bread 8-8-16

1 Corinthians 10:1-3

1 Moreover, brethren I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2 And all were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3 And did eat all the same spiritual meat;

ref. - Ex 13:21 - And the Lord went before them by day in the pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

Ex 14:22 - And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were unto them a wall on the right hand, and on their left.

Ex 16:15 - And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, it is manna: For they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord giveth you to eat.

This scripture should be so important to our lives today. We must realize that all mankind has been watched over and protected by God, all that have been called have been offered the same deliverance that the Israelites received when they were led out of Egypt by Moses. Only few survived though, being overcome with temptation and deceit, many perished in the wilderness. This is something that we need to look out for today. Although all who have come to repentance and been taken into God's family are eligible for the great reward, not all will receive it. Eternal life is that great reward. We will face the same temptations, the same trials, many of the same tribulations. But they who will endure until the end, they shall be saved. The people of Israel were watched and protected night and day and so will we if we continue in God's grace through Jesus Christ. We must realize that God is our protection and the glory goes to Him through Jesus Christ. H is our sword and shield and our robe and crown. When temptation arises, call on Him. When trials come upon us, call on Him. When others try to deceive us away from him, call on Him. He is right there looming over us with a cloud during the day and a torch during the night. He is there all the time and just waiting for us to follow His Son Jesus Christ unto the promised land!! So won't you follow Jesus today and stay on course? It is what you were made for!!!
