Daily Bread 6-23-16
Luke 1:70-75
70 As he spake my the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
73 The oath which he swore to our father Abraham,
74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all of the days of our life.
ref. - Jer 23:5 - Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
Lev 26:42 - Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
Gen 12:3 - And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Jer 32:39 - And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
We serve a great and mighty God. A God capable of all things and yet we worry and fear every time we set out to do something for him. We have confirmation in this scripture and throughout God's Holy Word that we have nothing to fear but the Lord God almighty. If God has a purpose for us then why would he let us be devoured by the enemy? He will not. You see, he has a place prepared in glory for each of us that will obediently follow his Son Jesus Christ and fulfill our calling. There is no possible way that he would prepare a mansion for you or for me and allow us to perish leaving the mansion vacant. We must believe that if he has called us that he will also protect us and prepare us to be capable of following our Savior. He will equip each of us with what we need to achieve what he has given us through a mighty adoption and inheritance. If he has promised it, He will deliver! Remember these great covenants and also remember that we are a part of a new covenant in Jesus Christ. God has given us a promise in Jesus Christ and a one way direction as well. We do not have to wander about saying that I am of Paul and I am of Apollos. No, we may stand boldly, even when opposed, and say I am of God through the mighty Savior Jesus Christ! There is nothing. No, no, nothing that God cannot and will not do for those who love Him. The prophets spent their lives talking about this mighty savior and never were able to see him but we are here, and we are now, and we have seen this great man Jesus Christ! He has walked the earth and given us promises that outweigh anything that the world can offer so let us praise Him! Let us worship Him! Let us learn of Him! Let us strive to achieve the things that he says we can achieve! And let us not fear anything that attempts to hinder us, knowing that God himself will reach down and smite them that oppose holiness and righteousness! Let us live! Let us live! Let us live on into eternity in Jesus Christ!!! His promise is true! His promise is real!! And it is for us!! To God be the Glory GREAT and MIGHTY things has he done!!!! Have a great day!!!
