Daily Bread 6-16-16
Psalms 84:9-12
9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
ref. - Gen 15:1 - After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
What a beautiful statement to the almighty God. Confidence and faith in this Psalm that God would give good things to those who follow him. When we read this scripture we should proclaim it as they did back in this day. The only question is; Do we really believe it? Our faith must grow day by day in God so that we can even proclaim these wonderful things. If we say them, we have to believe them. We have to truly believe that we would trade one day with God for a thousand days in wickedness. We have to also believe that the lowliest job, equally important to any job he gives us, is better than the greatest job living in sin for this world. Today, we will not go into great detail but let us ask ourselves this; Is the worst day with God better than the best day we had without him? If it is true and we believe it in our hearts then let us proclaim it! Let us shout it from the rooftops! Let us share our testimony with others spreading the goodness and mercy that is in Christ Jesus! Let us be the anointed ones of God on this earth and receive the light of God in our lives, the protection of God in our lives! Let us receive His grace and glory! Let us receive all of the good things that he has for us in Jesus' name and let us walk uprightly! Not caving to temptation or sin but fending it off with the weapons that God has given us! Let us trust in him and let him rule us and guide us on into eternity!! Have a great day!!!
