Daily Bread 6-8-16

2 Thessalonians 2:8

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

ref. - Dan 7:10 - A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set and the books were opened.

Isa 11:4 - But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

Heb 10:27 - But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Today we learn of the coming of Christ and what has to occur before he will come again. We read when the Lord will take care of the enemy but first he will be identified and then destroyed. The days on tis earth where sin will rule over it are numbered. There will some day be a mark so evident that all followers will know. We will have a choice, to draw closer to God or to follow the worshippers of man. The thing about it is, when it does happen, the time will be over for repentance, the books will be opened and the judgment set of all souls living and dead on this earth. We do not go looking for when this will happen or trying to predict when it is coming, we just have faith and believe that God is going to come and clean up this mess when it is time. Our job is to be ready for him when he comes. If we look at the world today there are many signs that the word of God declares as end time events. There are even false men trying to raise themselves up and create in themselves a God but they are short lived and we need not worry about them. When the Son of Perdition is revealed we will know it. Today we learn that we will know it because we will see the power of God himself come down and destroy him. But, as the scripture says, iniquity already is working. the only way to judge iniquity is through the word of God. So, in a shorter perspective we see that with the word of God(the rod of his mouth) sin is revealed and the Holy Ghost(the breath of his lips) he will slay the wicked and we who are caught in his will will be protected and chosen to move forward. In even a smaller view let us look at today alone. As today is the day of salvation, let us compare what we think is sin with the scriptures and gospel according to Jesus Christ. Is what you feel that is wrong or right in line with the scriptures, or is it something planted in you by man trying to hold to tradition and earthly heritage? You see, all of our answers to all of our questions are printed right in the Bible. If it isn't in there we don't need it. The false teachers and ringers of false doctrine will be revealed through God's word and the Holy Ghost and we will then know that God is with us. So beware of false teachers with lying lips always trying to serve themselves and trying to get us to serve them as well. Maybe his coming is closer than we think. Who really knows? He is the only one with that info. But we must be putting forth our utmost effort when he comes. Today, let us get out there and compare what we believe to the teachings of Christ. If the shoe fits, wear it. If not, fix it!! Our time to prepare may be short or it may be long but the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night so we best be ready when he comes!!!
