Daily Bread 5-26-16

Acts 14:2,3

But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against their brethren. Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

ref. - Mk 16:20 - And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Rom 15:19 - Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

There were many Jews and Greeks that believed what Paul had been preaching. The gospel of Christ. But when the non-believing Jews caught wind of it they made their own brothers into their enemies. This did not stop Paul nor did it stop the believers from following Paul. He continued on spreading the gospel and getting results everywhere he went. In some places he stayed a couple of days, in others up to two years. But wherever he went and preached the gospel signs and wonders followed. We have a choice today, we can follow after something where there are no results or temporary results, or we can follow after and believe the gospel of Christ, where all signs and wonders lie. We will have to see many of our own turn us into enemies but our fruit will eventually prove to even them that God is with us. The unbelievers will even go so far as to use heathens to fight against us as we continue to spread the gospel. But, hear this, my brothers; You do not defeat good and become good by using evil. It happen so many times, even in the Church. Something is taught and it goes against man's tradition of false doctrine that was taught in times past, and the first people that the convicted go to is people with the same unbelief, sinners. The Church goes on and the gospel continues. Signs and wonders following, and the unbelievers drift further away than ever before. But don't be discouraged disciples! If God is with us and we continue to drive forward in our callings. Putting the gospel of Christ the one and only gospel in our lives, there will be no stopping or denying what God is doing in us! Let us go forth boldly unto the throne of grace and achieve what God has put before us in Jesus Christ today and ever after!! Like they say in the world, We ain't seen nothin' yet!!!
