Daily Bread 5-18-16

Colossians 4:5,6

5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

ref. - Eph 5:15 - See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise.

Mark 9:50 - Salt is good: but if the salt have lost it's saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves and have peace one with another.

1 Peter 3:15 - But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that sketch you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

We read today in the scripture that we must walk in wisdom toward them that are without. The question is, where do we go looking for that wisdom? If we look i the world all we will receive is worldly wisdom. But if we seek to sanctify your lives and receive the Holy Spirit we will find Godly wisdom. In Proverbs it says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom. This may be why we are instructed to fear God over all others. He does hold the keys to heaven and hell and he will judge us one day. So, we must redeem the time, use it wisely and be prepared to show god's wisdom with our words and actions. Walking circumspectly just means that we are to walk cautiously knowing that there is an outcome to all of our words and actions as well. Furthermore, the only way that we are going to have God's grace is through the Holy Spirit. So it is clearly evident what we must do to fulfill this scripture. We must press forward into Christ and learn more of him, pray to God in Jesus' name for His will to be done in our lives, and when He answers our prayers we must be ready to answer every man that questions why we believe what we believe. We must not be ashamed to answer but at the same time we must be careful to speak as if God was standing right next to us cable of striking us down if we mislead anyone. Because He is right beside us every set of the way. But let us not only have him beside us but inside of us. The Holy Spirit in a man is a beautiful thing, and this is what he has for each and every one of us, if we only trust and obey. Be ready!! Be prepared!! And be blessed!!! Have a great day!!!
