Daily Bread 5-16-16

Romans 13:8-11

8 Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

9 For this, thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

11 And that, knowing the time, that it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than we believed.

ref. - Matt 7:12 - Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Lev 19:18 - Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord.

Gal 5:14 - For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

1Cor 15:34 - Awake to righteousness and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Now is not the time to revert back into our old lives or our old ways! The days of tradition and blood are dead and gone. We are now in the Spirit and we must dwell in the Spirit! Loving one another is not an option, it is an opportunity to become a part of the greatest army that mankind has ever known! The army that God has created in love through Jesus Christ! We no longer lift our hands in anger and we no longer hate to overcome our enemies! We throw them off guard by not hating them back but loving them! But, first, to achieve this we must first learn to implement love in your own brotherhood or among our neighbors(fellow Christians). The Lord says that if we fight anger and sin with kindness and righteousness that He will avenge our adversaries(enemies) and we will come out victorious in the eyes of God and also in the eyes of men! Who can do this? Not man, that's for sure. But God in man is the only way this can be achieved! So, today and on forward, let us pray together and put away our differences, whether big or small, and fulfill the law by loving one another and working no ill to one another! If we read the scripture we see that if we love our neighbor we will not commit adultery causing both to sin, we will not kill, we will not steal from one another, we will not lie about one another or make up stories about one another, we will not be jealous of what another has or doesn't have, and we will love one another. If we cannot achieve this among them that we love how are we going to bring it to the rest of the world? In christ Jesus all things are possible so don't sweat it. Let us get on our knees and cry out to God in Jesus' name for mercy. Let us ask for the grace and the love, the Spirit and the presence needed to fulfill this law and love our neighbors! It will be then that God will use us in his great army led by Christ to bring this love to even our enemies! So today, let us awake to righteousness and sin not! Let us wake up out of our spiritual sleep and understand that we do have a higher calling, a heavenly calling, in Christ Jesus!! Like the Apostle Paul said in Philippians 3:13,14 - Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Then end is nearer each day than it was yesterday so call on God and allow him to work through you and in you to be an example of the love of Christ on this earth!! And have a great day!!!
