Daily Bread 5-11-16
Matthew 11:16-19
16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
ref. - Luke 7:31 - And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
Luke 15:2,3 - And the Pharisees and the scribed murmured, saying, this man receiveth sinners, and earth with them. And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
Luke 19:7 - And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
Luke 7:29,35 - And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. But wisdom is justified of her children.
There are many instructors in Christ but very few Fathers. It seems today that everyone has an opinion on the proper way to be a "Christian". But just as in the days of John the Baptist and when Jesus walked the earth, there are very few that truly understand the will of God. Once again, people with good intentions, but not filled with understanding in the Holy Ghost. We can do what one man tells us to do and it will be wrong with another man, we can associate with one kind of people or race and it will be wrong in another man's eyes. You see, in man's eyes there will always be reason to murmur and talk about us but the eyes that we must worry about are God's. John came one way and they found reasons not to accept him, Jesus came another and they found reasons no to accept him either. What makes us think that, if we are the living embodiment of Christ, we will be accepted either? Either the sinners will resent us or the saints or both. Either way, we must keep calling on God, comparing our lives with they of the Holy Scripture, and realize that the only people who are going to understand us is other children of the Holy Ghost, who in turn is Jesus, who in turn is God. This is the only place where true Spiritual understanding is found. Wisdom is justified of her children. Let us think on that. Wisdom, the only way it is acceptable and understood, is by the children of wisdom. We know that there are two kinds of wisdom. Wisdom of the world and wisdom of God. If we want to be accepted by worldly people, or even people who serve God in only a carnal sense, we must rely on the wisdom of this world, but if we want to be justified by God, we must rely on His wisdom. Is this the right thing to do? Look into the scripture but most importantly pray. Am I ready for this? Look into the scripture and see if you have lined yourself up and have the qualities required for what you are seeking, but most importantly pray. How do I live for Christ or fulfill my calling without causing offense to anyone? Truth be told, you will never be able to cross that line if you think all will accept what you are doing. Just as John, just as Jesus, there will always be murmuring if you do something that is not according to man's rules or ideas, traditions or ways. Just make sure that you are in line with God's will and not causing offense to him by disobedience to His Word and His will. In other words, people are going to talk, and haters are gonna hate, but our God is still on the throne and he has final say on the outcome of our lives here on earth, and eventually into eternity!! Have a great day!!!!
