Daily Bred 3-27-19
Luke 11:21-23
21. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
22. But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
23. He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
ref. - v21 - Mt 12:29 - Or else how can on enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
Mk 3:27 - No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
v23 - Mt 12:30 - He that is not with me is against me; he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
When it comes to our souls there is only one who holds the superior and the highest power. Jesus Christ. Even the devils themselves know him and are afraid. Why is it then that we try to use other things and other ways to fend off the enemy? What we must understand is that there is great power in the name of Jesus Christ and no matter what condition we are in, and no matter how strong the enemy has us, in the name of Jesus Christ we can be set free! But not only set free, kept and protected from all things that oppose God. The just of this lesson is simple; If we want our beliefs and our faith and our lives to be scattered about, we will follow anything but Jesus Christ. If we want peace and we want security and consistency in our lives, we follow Jesus. You see, it has not been written for us to go about looking for anything stronger or better as there is nothing stronger or better than Jesus Christ. He was, is, and always will be that strong man that can be with us through all that we face in this earth. If any man or any thing leads us away from Jesus Christ or tries to tell us that there is any other way to God but through Jesus Christ and His gospel we must mark those men, and avoid them. Just as in our own minds and hearts. If there is any part of us that tries to find peace or holiness in any other thing than Jesus Christ we must, in the name of Jesus, cast it out. There is nothing that belongs in us that we think will take the place our even help Jesus Christ when it comes to our defense against the devil. Today, if you are not in a relationship with Christ, you can honestly look at yourself and see that your life is scattered about. Seeking peace in one thing, protection in another, happiness on another, and etc.... But there is one to go to for all of these things and he will stand sure until the end of time. That is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The same yesterday, today, and forever!!! Have a great day!!!
