Daily Bread 2-25-19
Luke 12:28-30
28 - If then God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 - And seek not what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of a doubtful mind.
30 - For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
ref. - Mt 6:31,32 - Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithall shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the gentiles seek:) for your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
We are trained from birth almost that in order to exist we have to do this do that, chase this, chase that... we worry bout careers, retirement, money, money, and did I say money? And it consumes our time to the point where we get little or nothing done in our Spiritual lives. As a matter of fact, as I write this I have a stack of bills next to me and a ringing phone on the counter, but this lesson tells me that those bills will be there when I am finished writing this Daily Bread and the phone will still be there after I am done with my time spent in his Word. What we need to do is to step out in faith and realize that, even though God will take care of us carnally and show us ways to achieve things on earth, he will also provide the Spiritual food that we need and the Spiritual drink that we need. The word of God says that we are not to worry about these things as God provide for all things the capabilities to exist on this earth. But the special blessing, and the thing that is not given to all who breathe the air, is the spiritual guidance and direction that he will give all who seek him through his Son Jesus Christ. Why Jesus Christ? Because he is not only the perfect leader and savior, but also the perfect example. If we are living by faith in him he will give us the information and the Spirit within us that others do not have. So, rather than worrying about all of these things of the world and prioritizing God after the world, let us make our main priority and before and above all others, our God and his will in our lives. All other things will fall into place, but without God in the lead we will have nothing inside. We may prosper as the world sees prosperity, but we will not have the inner peace and the hope of eternal life. But if we follow after this wonderful savior, Jesus Christ, we will one day see God. So, pray for his will to be done in our lives today, and he will provide a way for everything that we need, Spiritually and carnally, to get through this short time on earth and some day, find our eternal rest! Don't worry......be happy!!! God is love!! Have a great day!!!
