Daily Bread 12-4-18

Matthew 11:3

And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

ref. - Gen 49:10 - The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

Dt 18:15 - The Lord thy God shall raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

Mal 3:1-3 - Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger off the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiners fire, and like fullers' sope: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the Sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

These men had been sent to find the one that their leader, John the Baptist, had sent them to seek out. They were looking for the one whose "latchet of his shoes John was not worthy to unloose". The one who not only spoke of the powers and miracles of God but performed them. This was to be Shiloh! This was to be their savior! Christ told them to go and show John all of the great things that were being done. As we journey through this life we spend our time looking for answers and looking for the way. All we need to do is to look at the very results that Christ brings through and in those who follow him in faith. In what other arena or establishment do these things occur? In Hospitals? Hospitals can only do so much. In Psychiatry wards? No, they can only diagnose and medicate, but the cure is not there. Psychology? Confirmation of the bad spirit but no power to permanently cast them out. In all these places there is only a temporary fix to a "permanent" problem. In example, if you are an alcoholic, they say you will always be an alcoholic, if you are bipolar, you will always be bipolar, etc. But in Christ the lame walk, the deaf hear, the dumb speak, and demons flee! So, as we look at the results of faith in Christ we can come to the conclusion that, yes, he lives! And, yes, he heals! And, yes, he saves!! All because someone brought us the news of this savior and had there own testimony of his mercy and grace. God has risen up this savior and we are fortunate enough to have been born into this day when we can serve him and he WILL cure our disease, he WILL take out the bad spirits, he WILL make us Spiritually whole! If we have any problem that the world cannot cure or something that is impossible to get through, in Jesus' name he will straighten out the way! Maybe not in the way that man is looking for, but he does have the answer. What he does is change the hearts and minds of man to not seek out things pertaining to our physical bodies and our existence on this earth, but he alters our minds and souls to seek for things that are eternal and not temporary! Though our bodies will become sick and we will some day die, in Christ we will rise again and spend eternity in paradise! So, today, let us ask ourselves this; Has he answered our question yet? "Is he the one that should come, or do we keep looking?" If we just look around us we will realize that he is not just "an" answer, he is the only answer!! He is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Holy Messiah! Shiloh! He is the one that can do great things in us and through us! So let us believe in him and then go forth ad show all who will listen and all who ask, that Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords! He is the beginning and the end! And he is the one that John the Baptist and so many other who have been called to spread this gospel speak about! He is Jesus Christ!!! The answer to our question is, Yes, Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life!!! Have a great day!!!
