Daily Bread 4-6-18

1 Timothy 6:12

     Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

ref. - Eph. 6:10-18 - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

                  Ph 3:12 -  Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect, but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which I am also apprehended of Christ Jesus.

             Heb 13:23 - Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.

          Keep on keeping on brothers and sisters! You have not been just put on this earth by coincidence, it is the calling of God.  We have been given all that we need to fight this fight, but we must surrender to him.  We have been promised something that nothing or no one in the world can promise us and that is eternal life! Let us lay hold on it by putting on the armour of God and winning this Spiritual battle against evil. We can defeat each other day by day if we prepare physically but to defeat the enemy we must prepare Spiritually. This will be complete when we have put on the whole armour of God and not only defended ourselves but also used the sword of the Spirit to overtake the enemy and bind him. In this Holy Spirit is the only place we will ever find the power to actually be in control of the enemy. This is why we must call on the Lord or God daily in the name of Jesus Christ, always looking for more strength.  Just as the Apostle Paul tells us in Hebrews; Not that we have attained, but that we seek after that perfection.  Until then, we have a mediator, a defender, that promises us to put his Spirit in us and give us the power to, in his name, fend off the enemy and all those who come to Spiritually conquer us.  We have testified our salvation, others have heard us, so let's seek for the power that we have been promised. Let us claim the inheritance that we have been offered through adoption and be who we say we are.  Let us be followers of Christ and let our souls be saved by the only one who can save them.  Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever!! Fight the good fight of faith brothers and sisters!! Lay hold on eternal life brethren!!! And be the Christians that God created us to be!!! It all starts with a little bit of faith!!
