Daily Bread 3-23-18

Acts 7:17-23

17 But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

18 Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.

19 The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.

20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months:

21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds.

23 And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.

ref. - Gen 15:13 - And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years.

Ex 2:2 - And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

Heb 11:23 - By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw that he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.

Ex 2:11 - And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

As we can surely see the road has always been a rocky one for the chosen people of God. But there is never reason to give up hope. In this scripture we see how the children of God, the Jews, were taken into an unfavorable situation when a ruler that did not know God was put into power. All along God was raising up one within their ranks to help his people. They just needed to be patient and remain hopeful. Faithful to God and devoted to him. Today, we as Gentiles, are included in the chosen people of God and we will face persecution and tribulation as the world tries to control us and take us away from our true inheritance. But fear not, my brethren, you will not be counted for the slaughter. Jesus Christ is watching over all of us and we will not be overcome by the world! Even though the world can control what it does to our bodies, our souls are untouchable if we have the Holy Spirit of God in Jesus Christ in them! As Moses was come out of Egypt and saved the Hebrews, so did Jesus rise up from the grave and still is saving all those who will repent and come to God in his name. You see, in God's timing, all that were created for him and in him will be protected an saved. This is why we read that we should not fear them that can destroy the body, but fear him that can destroy both the body and the soul. There is only one who has power to do that and he has come!! He is risen!! And he is here day to do the same that Moses did in his day for the people that God gave him. Jesus Christ will watch over us and quiet the mouths and halt the hands of our oppressors! He will see when they despitefully mistreat us and he will rescue us from this. We may have to endure through it on this earth but guaranteed, those men will not be there when we reach eternity, at least not where we will be!(They will be there, and there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth, but they will not be on the side of the fence that we are on) So, let us endure and remain under the grace and mercy of God in our Lord Jesus Christ! And even in the bad times and the sad times, let us remain faithful and hopeful that help is on the way! One day we will see a brighter day and joy will truly come in the morning, we just have to get through the night in order to see the day!!! Walk in the light(Jesus Christ) and it will lead you through the darkness and into the bright and cloudless morning!! Jesus Saves!! Jesus Heals!! And Jesus loves us!! Have a great day!!!
