The Sermon on the mount(cont'd)

Matthew 7:28,29

28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

ref. - Mk 1:22 - And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

Lk 4:32 - And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

Is 50:4 - The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

Jn 7:46 - The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

He is all powerful, He is all knowing, He is the Son of God, He is Jesus Christ!! In these last lessons we have learned what he would like us to do and what he would have us to believe. Not by throwing down a list of rules, but by reasoning with our hearts, minds, and souls. Just as he was before, he is now, and ever will be, one that was there in the beginning as he will be in the end. In this sermon he explains to us the changes that we need to make in ourselves in order to fulfill what God has set in order for us. He wants us not to only know, but to become obedient to these things. In this obedience we will become fruitful and profitable to him. Therefore gaining his favor and a good report at judgment. He taught and his words still teach with authority and not as he was reading from a script or a speech. It is very easy to tell when something is rehearsed or memorized or comes from true wisdom and knowledge. And our Saviour has that knowledge and power. Not only in physical miracles but much more the Spiritual miracles that he performs within us. There is no other who can perform these miracles other than the Father, the Son, and The Holy Ghost. And we have access unto all in Jesus Christ! So, keep this sermon in your minds and in your hearts. Let the Spirit of God come into your soul and purge you from the iniquities and impurities that hold you back, and make a true effort to become obedient to the words and commandments that come when we read the word of God and learn how to follow Christ. Have a great day!!!
