The Sermon on the mount(cont'd)

Matthew 7:24,25

24 Therefore whosoever hearth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

ref. - Lk 6:47 - Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like:

Ac 14:22 - Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

2Ti 2:19 - Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

If we follow Jesus, we will stand on a rock. Throughout this sermon and throughout this message we have been discussing that the chief cornerstone of our Spiritual building is Jesus Christ. As we travel through this life and towards judgment we are going to face the same trials and tribulations that others face. It is what we have inside of us and what Spirit is driving us that will determine how we endure these things. We have even learned that there are men dressed in suits, carrying Bibles, that will try to take us away from what Christ has given us, and we are told to beware. If we take heed to these sayings and this instructions that we have been learning about, we will not only endure through many things that would have destroyed us before we met Christ, but we will come out stronger and an example to others. When the trials come we will stand, when the tribulations try to upend our lives we will lean in towards Christ and endure the storm. If we base our salvation on Jesus Christ and become obedient to his teaching and commandments we will be able to withstand all that the enemy and this world throws at us. God knows them that are his and in order to be acknowledged by him we must depart from iniquity(sin). Do not enter into willing sin, stay away from those who the Bible tells us to stay away from. And rather than follow the advice of a gainsayer or heretic(false prophet), follow what we are given in Christ. It is written, it is sealed, and it will never change. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever!! Have a great day!!!
