The Sermon upon the mount(cont'd)

Matthew 7:1

Judge not , that ye be not judged.

ref. - Ezk 16:52 - Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for the sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.

Lk 6:37 - Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Simple words for today. We will all give account for our own selves some day. It will not make us look better to seek someone out who has done worse things or to try to overshadow our own offenses with the offenses of others. It will all come back to us. This scripture, many times, is misused by Spiritually immature and ignorant people who do not like to receive correction. Rather than own their faults and repent, they will tell those who inform them of their sin, "don't judge me". They try to muzzle the mouth of the one who has been called by God to try to help them. So let us not confuse Spiritual rebuke and correction, preaching and teaching, with judgment. Judgment will come from God whether we take heed to the warnings that we have been given or not. Our outcome will depend on our obedience. Not one man, no not one, has the power to condemn or cast another man into hell, but many have been called to try to help others from meeting this judgment. They, too, must take heed to their own advice in order to avoid falling on the wrong side of God's judgment. As followers of Christ we must take heed to and reinforce or support what he has taught and what he has shown us. And today, it is to pay attention to ourselves rather than judging others. If a minister, in ministry, if a teacher, in teaching. It is not necessary to add to or take away from what Christ has given us as it is the perfect will of God. Pay attention to the word of God, if it condemns or convicts, Jesus saves. If it shows us we are ill, Jesus heals. If we read or listen to the word of God and it seems judgmental, we must look in the mirror and see why we are offended rather than trying to push it off as man's judgment. Only God will be our judge and we must follow Christ in order to come out on the positive end of judgment. It all refers back to the simple instruction we have been given on how to pray; Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them who trespass against us. In order to not be judged, we must not try to be the judge. Have great day!!
