The Sermon on the mount(cont'd)

Matthew 5:18

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

ref. - Lk 16:17 - And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

in Jesus christ we are given everything we need pertaining to God. As we grow in him we will also grow into Spiritual people. A carnal salvation will turn unto a true Spiritual salvation. With that salvation comes more. More is going to be required of us, but also more is offered. In Christ we are not only to control our members and our lives to avoid sin but we are also guided in the Spiritual way that this sin or the thought or desire of it is not even in us. It can be looked at in two ways; The weak in faith will say, "We can't even do what was required in the law, how are we going to ever even keep the thoughts from our minds? After all, we are only human and we fail him every day but thank God he is there to forgive us.........." This is the way of thinking that Christ came down to get rid of. The negativity of "I can't do anything right" needed to be changed to "I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me". Christ did not come to take the rules away, he came to show us a way that those rules would not have to be enforced in us as they wouldn't pertain to us. A way that we could live under a grace that has forgiven us and showed us the path. He has given us the opportunity to have those thoughts and desires, lusts and sins removed from our inner being and, therefore, be able to refrain from sin. He didn't come to let the world have free course, he came to set men free and to hold captivity captive. As long as we are in Christ we will see that all prophecy will be fulfilled. Today this includes the New Testament prophecies of Christ. He reinforces that there will be total judgment of all things on the earth and so many more things if we will just learn of him and these prophecies. In order to avoid this harsh punishment and severe judgment we must follow Christ. He is the only one that we have to show us the way to get through what we face today. All others showed the people how to please God in their day, but today, and forever on, Christ is the way. It will only be easy if we submit fully to the Holy Spirit that he offers us. Because the rules will not go away, but our failures will become less and less and eventually go away as we draw closer to him. Not one piece of the law will fail until the very end so we had better get behind the only one who can protect us from it and keep us. That man is, Jesus Christ!! Have a great day!!!!
