Daily Bread 11-29-17

Galatians 3:11

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith.

ref. - Hab 2:4 - Behold, the soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

The law is to inform us and convict us of our sin. There is no reward in it. It is the constant evidence that mankind could not live a righteous, holy life on his own. Let us look at it this way; In a courtroom, has there ever been a case in which the law was not there to convict, but to reward it's citizens? No, but we know that if we do not break the law that we will not be convicted of it right? We will not end up convicted in a courtroom if we do not commit the crime. Well, how about if someone came to us and proved that we could be put to trial without conviction under the law if we put forth our best effort not to break the law. Or, better yet, what if this person replaced many of the laws and showed us a different way. And he told us that if we stayed under his wing that he would keep us out from under the law. But we must be obedient to this new set of rules. In turn we would not be convicted under the law. An alternative way if you will? Well, this is exactly what Jesus has brought us. But we must be obedient to his set of rules. So many think that because Jesus conquered all the evil this world could throw at him and fulfilled the law, that it is a free ticket for them to go and live and do whatever they want. But it is not. Even though we were not even considered to be capable, as Jew or Greek, to being obedient and fulfilling the law, we were given an alternative in Jesus Christ. If we can just learn of him and become obedient to his teachings and his commandments we can have faith and hope that we will not be found short when we face the great and mighty day of judgment. So, today, let us lean more into Jesus Christ than ever before. Even if we do not see these unexplainable miracles or we do not bask in his presence unending, we must know that he is there making intercession for us as long as we are obedient and faithful. Let us be the ones who are justified by our faith in him, and let us be the "just" ones of today, not living in condemnation and conviction but in faith. Rejoicing and expecting him to come and rescue us someday from this training grounds we call earth!! Live in faith, and the rest will follow!! have a great day!!!!
