John 8:4-8
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted himself up, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
ref. - Dt 5:18 - Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
Lv 20:10 - And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
Dt 17:7 - The hands of the witness shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.
Job 5:12 - He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
Mt 7:1-5 - Judge not , that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Let he that is without sin among you..........this excludes every one of us on this earth. There is only one who has not sinned on this earth. Jesus Christ has the key to heaven and the key to hell. His judgment will last forever. This is why we must pay close attention to his commandment and his teaching. We must seek out God's will through Jesus Christ. We could reserve a part of our hearts for the laws of Moses, or even the Baptism of John, but isn't that why God shown down on the disciples at the mount and told them, "This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear ye him."? We are not to reserve not even one small portion of our hearts to anyone other than Christ. Spiritually there is no other path that we can successfully travel. We have not been called in the day of Moses, nor have we been called in the day of any other priest. We have been called in the time of the everlasting priest, the one that has been called forever. This being Jesus Christ. Man can take our lives, he can take our livelihood, our possessions, but he has no control over our journey into eternity. The word of God tells us that if a man has committed a sin, or an offense, that we are to inform him of his sin and then leave him alone to find a place in his own shame. Until he comes to repentance and rights himself with God we have not gained a brother. So, why do many insist that we are not to "call them out for their sin?" Information and allegation is not judgment. We are here to help our fellow man by being honest and truthful with them. So this is not judgment as we cannot hold a stone and kill the adulteress, we can only inform her of her sin and show her the way to Christ where a perfect will is found. Men will want to kill us but the word says for us not to fear them which can take our mortal bodies but to fear the one who can throw us into hell. Christ reasoned with these men and made them realize that once they caught the woman and informed her of her sin, their job was now done. Different than the earthly carnal methods that were practiced and commanded before, but a new commandment nonetheless. He waited until they were all away and then he dealt with the woman himself. But he did not give her a free pass, he told her in this manner; Now that you have been informed of your sin, and God is fully aware of your doings, I will forgive you, but you are to go forward and sin no more. In a person who desires to remain in sin it would be easier to let the men take their lives than to try to defend themselves against a command like Jesus gives. This is why we have so many people who jump every time they are convicted or informed of their sin. They are easy and quick to quote, He that is without sin............., but our answer to them and their answer to us if the "shoe is on the other foot" is this; I am not here to try to cast judgment on you. That belongs to someone else. I have now informed you of your sin. If you are guilty of it you need to go to Jesus Christ and seek his help and forgiveness. Only he can open or close the doors to where you will spend eternity. But when he tells you that you are forgiven, the words that once convicted you will no longer convict you. The same gospel will be preached, but it will not sting if it no longer pertains to you. That is, unless you return to the sin that you were told to stay away from. Keep this in mind and realize that it pertains to every one that breathes on this earth, even you. But our answer and the only answer is in Jesus Christ. Have a great day!!!
