Daily Bread 6-21-17

Luke 6:24-26

24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

26 Woe unto you, when men speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

ref. - Am 6:1 - Woe unto them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came.

Lk 12:21 - So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Matt 6:2 - Therefore, when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Isa 65:13 - Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, My servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed.

Great warning to those who desire to look good in the eyes of man. If that his what you are looking for, that is all you will get. If you have been called to service, that is, called to salvation, your loyalty is no longer to the world, but to the Lord. Too many out seeking the benefits of this world while using the name of the Lord. To this there will be a bitter end. Maybe not now, but soon the end of all things will come and our books will be sealed. When the word of God says woe into you that are rich, it pertains to many things. Men who look after carnal rewards rather than heavenly. Being rich and being content are two different things. Men who think that they know too much and make up their own doctrine rather than going to God for their answers, and men who are seeking the approval of all men rather than the blessings of God. You see, some have confused and perverted things to the point that they think God's blessing is to have the approval of man. Throughout the word of God it tells us that we will stand on our own when we enter into service. That we will be persecuted and hated of all men. But we seek for that proverbial pat on the back every time that we do anything. We either stand and look at people when they reach in to their pockets looking for money, or we say things to please them and to comfort them when, through the word of God, they need a good whipping. Well, beware false prophets and wolves in sheep clothing, your time is coming to an end. It will not mean a thing each time that you announce to all how much you have done and how much you have gone through to "serve God", as the one who is listening will be the one whom you say you served. You want your family to be happy, be a good dad or mom. You want your community and congregation to put you on a pedestal? Go serve the community or patty cake your congregation so they serve you. But if you want the reward of the Lord, give all the truth equally. Serve God and not man. This grace can only be achieved through the Holy Ghost and through prayer and obedience to the answers of prayer. Expect to not be the one on a pedestal but the one that is cast out. The more that we serve God the less that worldly people will accept us or what we have to say. Because they do not want to hear the truth, but the truth is what they need. This is why it takes a godly repentance to come to true salvation. We did not enter into service with God because we had so much to offer, nor did we enter into service to God because we already had it all. We realized that we had nothing to offer and that we had nothing left, and then turned ourselves over to him to be rebuilt. Once rebuilt many decided that they needed to be busybodies, backbiters, double tongued, despising government or anything that would have the rule over them. Thus refusing the structure and order that God has put in place. To you who have put yourselves in this position, take heed to this godly and truthful warning and accept this merciful offer. Your time is growing short and it is high time for you to realize that the Church, God's people, the Gospel, and the salvation of Jesus Christ will go on with or without you. You are but a speck of sand on the beach compared to all that have been called to salvation and you need to realize that you need Christ, he doesn't need you. He wants you but you will perish and people will walk over your grave and not even know you are there unless you repent and get back into line behind Christ. So take heed, all who read this, Repent! Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand! Get right before there is no longer right to get. Stop seeking for the approval of men and seek the approval of God. Take this serious, because many are a the end of the rope and the ned of the rope is a noose. Do not choose the path of Judas, take the path of the Apostles and Prophets that remained faithful unto their earthly deaths, no matter how gruesome or painful they came. Christ did it on a cross so that we could have this opportunity and his example let's follow it! We are capable in Christ, and he is there for all who will follow!! Have a great day!!!
