Daily Bread 6-19-17
Amos 3:6,7
6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people be not afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?
7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
ref. - Ezk 33:3 - If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
Pr 3:32 - For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
It is time to listen to the messengers of God. So many times we are warned and we take it for granted or think it is for "someone else". The Israelites had all kind of excuses for not listening as well but when it came time for the prophecies to come and the warnings were over, they were blinded and many remain blinded until this day. Which brings us to this day: We stand and are warned by todays men of God but do not take heed. WE think that there is more time, we come up with worldly excuses, but the warnings still remain. Sometimes we think that we need to find another minister because where is all the joy and all the worship and where is the circus that many have turned the house of God into? Well, if you have been blessed to be in front of a man that will tell you the truth and reveal things to you through the word of God that will help you, you need to pay attention. There are many instructors that "know" the Bible, but very few that know what it means. God still revealed his mysteries to men but few are willing or brave enough to stand in front of many and give it as it was given to them. These turn into false prophets and eventually fade away. But there are those who, no matter what the circumstance or who they are in front of, will give us the true word of God with an explanation that will trim us and get us ready to meet him. So, the next time we think the minister is being hard on us or we have heard this times before, we must look into our own selves and ask ourself if it was needed. He is not there to pet us or to make us feel better by lying to us, he is there to reveal parts of the word of God that we don't understand or parts that we are not obedient to. Also, he is there to put us in remembrance of people who would not take heed to the warnings or accept the information that was given them by men of God. Gods own people ignored many of the warnings and did not accept the information as they thought they already knew it all. Is that you? Pay attention to the word of God and listen closely when it is being explained by those who have been given the gift. It is a matter of eternal life or damnation to a people that were ALL created to follow Christ. Have a great day!!!
