Daily Bread 4-21-17

Isaiah 11:4,5,10

4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jes'se, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

ref. - Ps 72:2,4 - He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment. He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.

Mal 4:6 - And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Ro 15:10 - And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

Heb 4:1 - Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

The promise has been there through prophecy for over 2700 years. The promise of salvation that God would offer for all mankind. The example of Jesus Christ was told to the people of God over 700 years before Christ waked the earth. The proof and fulfillment of this prophecy came true as a man named Jesus, the Son of God, walked the earth in true righteousness and faithfulness. A perfect example of the way a man should walk and the path a man should take in order to please God. He was not only a sign of prophecy but also a messiah, a savior. He did not mince his words nor did he cover up the truth to protect the weak. He told them like it was and offered them a solution. He offered them a way to attain the unattainable. To conquer the unconquerable, and it was all through faith, patience, and judgment. Now, as then, he has been given the power to judge all people, from the highest to the lowest and all in between. He still judges us today through his word. Now, if we read this scripture, it says in this day, meaning while Jesus is active on the earth, that God will smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. Christ did and does still do just that. If we look at how Christ approached the enemy and spoke to the enemy, he used "it is written" and quotes the word of God. He had faith that the word of god alone, through faith, was his defense. This was a living example to us that all of our defense is in the word of God. To judge with righteousness, he went by the word of God and told us that the time of final judgment was not yet but that we should prepare for it as it was coming. Man may not be given the power to judge us but God has allowed many men, in positions of authority and through the Holy Ghost, to judge what is right and wrong. All supported by the word of God and in order. We need to listen, make sure it is backed by scripture that pertains to this day, and put it into practice. It is time for us to stop trying to remain disobedient and childish and realize that Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever. Spoken of in prophecy thousands of years ago, and brought to earth to fulfill that prophecy, still remains in control today and His word and commandment and our obedience to it is what will save us. So, today, let us use the word of God as our guide and call on God to lead us through Jesus Christ so that we, too, may understand that there is only one way to righteousness and one way to faith; In Jesus Christ. Have a great day!!!
