Daily Bread 2-16-17

Mark 13:14

But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not,(let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

ref. - Matt 24:15 - When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place,(whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Dan 9:27 - And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Lk 21:21 - Then let them which are in Judaea flee unto the mountains; and let them that are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

The abomination of desolation. And what an abomination that it will be. All that God has created on this earth will be destroyed. All of the beauty, the animals, the plants, the human race,........etc. All because the world looked upon him and they turned their faces from him. The Lord will make things desolate and the only way for believers to survive is to flee into the Holy Place. If we think in a carnal way, what a shame. But how much worse when our souls become desolate. When we have no hope, and our sense of purpose is gone? It is in these times that the only way that we can become hopeful and purposeful again is to have faith and get closer to God through the body of Christ, the Church. Mount Zion, if you will. When we are feeling low and desolate the best thing that anyone can do is to believe that there truly is help in Jesus Christ and His Church. The Christian Church. The Church of God Of The Firstborn as it is written in the book of Hebrews 12:22-23. But even now we see that many who call themselves Churches are just putting on performances and trying to manufacture the Spirit while the whole time they are conforming to the ways of the world. Mingling science with holiness and God's will, using traditions and personal opinion as a form of holiness, even performing and imitating the things of God, and in a sense, blaspheming against the Holy Spirit. These places lack the Spirit and in time will become desolate. The true believers will flee, seeking something that is not bodily exercise but Spiritual sanctity. Some will be fooled and remain, but the true believers will leave the abomination of desolation behind, knowing that destruction and emptiness is not for them and seeking the true Spirit of God. What we need to know right now is that these things are happening and the only place we will find true help in Jesus Christ is by fleeing to the mountain that his Spirit dwells. It is not a hill with trees and snow on the top. No, it is a mountain that we thought we could never climb, or didn't even want to climb. It is a Spiritual mountain that through hope and perseverance, we will climb. Leaving behind the desolate feeling of no hope and striving on to live for Jesus. An influx or dwelling of the Holy Spirit that is in us. Something that we thought at one time to be only for the "Big" preachers or the Holy ones who are put in leadership. But truth be told, the Holy Spirit is an adopted inheritance for any of us who will have the courage to believe. Believing that the only place we can get this Holy Spirit is when we flee to the mountain; Jesus Christ. There will never be another, there is no replacement or alternative. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever. So let the world crumble behind us as we journey forward, uphill all the way, to the mountain where, when we endure to the end, we will be someday given the reward of our salvation!!! Have a great day!!!
