Daily Bread 2-8-17
Romans 12:17-19
17 Recompense no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
ref. - Dt 32:35 - To me belongeth vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them shall make haste.
The word of God is true, it is once again yes and Amen. In our lives, as we serve God, we will be approached and attacked by many that do not possess the same Spirit that we possess. They will try to anything to drag us down or hurt us and, in the end, they will be repaid for all of their troubles. But it is not for us to repay or to even become a stumbling block for them. We must just get out of the way and let God do his work. Like has been taught and proven by Christ; we do not turn into the devil to conquer the devil. No, we must be the blood born bought children of God and he will eventually have the final say in all things. If we pay attention to those who have caused problems for years, eventually they slip up and their true colors come through. Eventually the evil one dwelling in the souls of the non-believers rears his ugly head and shows his ugly teeth. Now we can do one of two things when this happens; We can fight fire with fire, which we all know is a temporary thing. Even if we receive satisfaction for a moment, it will fade away and the one who caused us the evil will continue on either tormenting us or someone else. Or, we can take the road less traveled. The narrow path. We can just get out of the way and let God take care of it. In which it will not be temporary, but final and forever. They will no longer be able to torment another single human being. They will be seen as they are and not as they appear to be. But, if it be possible, let us live peaceably with all men, as much lieth in us, as verse 18 says. All the while knowing that the will of God will be done and that he will, one day, repay all of them who persecute the soldiers, children, and servants of God through Jesus Christ! The living God!!
