Daily Bread 11-24-16

Ephesians 5:14-17

14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that steepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

ref. - Isa 60:1 - Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

Rom 6:4,5 - Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Col 4:5 - Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Rom 12:12 - Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.

It is time Brothers and Sisters! It is time to leave, as we heard in September, the principles of salvation and move forward in our relationship and our callings in Christ! It is time to not claim ignorance but to begin to walk wisely. Before not only ourselves but all mankind we must walk in understanding. Becoming examples of God's love in this earth and the driving, diligent, unmoving, example that Christ not only has in himself, but has put in us through the Holy Spirit! We may be dead to the things of the world but we have also arisen as new men in Christ! We are not to waste our time but to use it wisely! As the world goes further and further away from God and will some day be destroyed by fire just as Sodom and Gomorrah, we must become the new man that Christ created in righteousness and understanding. These things do not come by study alone and bodily exercise but through prayer in the Spirit. If we claim to have the Lord within us then it is time to arise and shine!! When we do rise and shine, stick our necks out a bit, Christ will give us what we need to become beacons in the night. Also, let us pray for the same patience and perseverance that Christ showed us in that when we rejoice, it is in the hope that we will see eternal life, and that we will be patient in all the evil things that this world has to throw at us. Let us be the first to pray when things come our way, the first to pray when things are going great, the first to pray as soon as the tides turn and things are pointing away from Christ. You see, his light is the only light that will lead us to the gate we need to go through, so let us follow it and become carriers of that light so that others that have not seen it may learn to follow it too!! Let us be the resurrected, born again, children of God!! Obedience will only come when the heart is willing. Have a great day!!!!
