Mark 4:30-32
30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what comparison shall we compare it?
31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
ref. - Matt 13:31 - Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field.
Luk 13:18 - Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
Mal 1:11 - For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.
It all started out as just a suggestion. Maybe a nudge in the right direction. But all of us who have come to know the Lord were given a small seed of something that sparked our interest. Even thought it may have taken years for that seed to come up, it did. And the closer we got to Christ, the more consumed we were and more dependent we have become on his Word and his promises. Many of us can remember, it all started out with a little prayer. Some not even knowing what to say, but our hearts opened for the very first time to him and he entered in. We received the greatest gift God ever gave man; salvation in the name of Jesus Christ! But, remember it started out just as a small thing. Not consuming our lives but a little information. And then, after salvation we learned to be curious and study the word of God, looking for answers to not only our spiritual issues but our carnal problems as well. Pretty soon we were looking into it for everything, and as our faith grew, leaning onto the word of God for all of our answers. Next, once we were strengthened in faith and filled with the Holy Ghost, we were able to spread out the branches of what God planted in us and even protect the ones who are still out there drifting in the air. Aimless, hopeless, without God in their lives. We, once being the ones to whom the seed was planted, have now, through faith, let the Kingdom of God grow in us so that we are not only shade filled branches but also spreaders of the same little seeds of hope that brought us to where we are today!! So, remember, what others see as little will grow into something that is more important to this world than anything on it or the occupants therein. The word of God is the Kingdom of God and it needs to come alive and grow in us!! As we have now taken on the role of children of God we must know that we are no longer the heathen but the adopted, grafted in by faith, Gentiles that this scripture speaks of!! This is good news, that what once was something very small in us has now consumed us to the point where we lean on it for everything!! We have become good because God is gooooooddd!!!! Have a great day!!!!
