Daily Bread 11-11-16

Psalm 82:1,2

1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

ref. - Ec 5:8 - If thou sees the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth: and there be higher than they.

Ex 21:6 - Then his master shall bring him into the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with and aul; and he shall serve him forever.

Deut 1:17 - Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.

Sometimes we forget the sheer power that our God has. We try to take on things that we cannot handle and forget that he is there to assist us or take over when the road gets too tough. There is not one person that will not be judged by our God eventually. Not one that gets treated differently because of their strength or their weakness, their wealth or their poverty, their works or lack of works, no one. After all, faith without works is dead, and so is works without faith. We forget that God is in control and he is waiting for us to call on him. Yes, some of us can determine when someone is in sin or doing wrong, but we choose to treat them differently than others because maybe they are our own blood or they are good givers, or the worst excuse, "we know them", so we are more lenient on them. What we don't realize is that we are not doing them any favors by doing this, we are harming them to a place that when they are judged they will be condemned. They have heard the truth but have decided to follow an easier path through the teachings of they who take it easy on them. Blind lead the blind they both fall in the ditch. God is in control and we need to call on him and receive consolation. Even though what many are doing gets under our skin and we cannot see why God would let them get by with it, we must stay in the scriptures and fight our battle. He will take care of everything in due time. Do not Iive in fear of anyone in your calling from God so that the Gospel cannot be seen in you. God will take care of you and just remember, You too will be judged so be careful how you treat the things of God. The scriptures were written to help us not only help ourselves but others. This is why Jesus said the sword of the Spirit is the word of God. When the going gets tough call on God, bring it to him and he will take care of what is too hard for us. Sometimes this includes respect of persons. All are going to be judged by the same Gospel and the same judge. Let's get in line and lean on God in Jesus' name today and have a great day!!
