Mark 6:32-34
32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
ref. - Matt 9:36 - But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Matt 14:14 - And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them and he healed their sick.
Isa 61:1 - The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath amounted me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of prison to them that are bound.
Luke 9:11 - And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
Just a little effort to be seen by Jesus and these people were taken care of. Not by their physical presence or the sound of their voices, but by them acknowledging their needs and their eagerness to seek after Jesus. He had compassion on them because no one was taking care of them. They were sheep without a shepherd, grabbing onto anything that they thought could help them. Never finding but always seeking help. But when they saw Jesus they believed in him enough to even follow where his ship was sailing on foot so they could be wherever he stopped. Today, our world is filled with sheep that have no shepherd. Jens Christ is definitely the answer but we are not willing to go out of our comfort zones to gather and receive what he has for us. Many that were there, were there to eat the food and see the show so they could report back, but the multitude that followed and struggled along just to be with him were the ones whom he had compassion on. Sometimes we think it is too far, or too late, or too much, and then we hear of the great and wonderful things that Christ is doing with those who humble themselves at his feet and we are where to be found. We are more worried about the cost or the time out of our busy schedules, our worldly possessions, to follow him. What a great experience it is when he sees our problems and our illnesses and has compassion on us! Without Christ in our lives we have no leadership, we have no miracles, we have no salvation, there is no Holy Spirit. Others seek times and places, searching for signs and proof, but we, as a chosen generation seek after the promises of Christ through faith. We are no longer without a shepherd as we follow as disciples. Not only once in awhile but every day. Not only when the going gets rough, but in times of abundance as well. You see, we were all created to be at least one thing; Disciples(followers) of Christ. Until we seek after him and come together with others on the shores we will never show him our desire to be a disciple. We will only be one of the number. Let us seek after him and only him and we will soon see what he is capable of in our own lives. Instead of stories and testimonies of others receiving we will be the sheep having a shepherd and the testimonies will also be ours!! Go to Him, humbly and in meekness and he will help you to become the disciple that God made you to be!!! Have a great day!!!
