Daily Bread 9-3-16

2 Corinthians 7:16

16 I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

ref. - Phm 8,21 - 8 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient. 21 Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.

Paul was confident in the Corinthians because they had proven themselves. How many times in a day do we have the opportunity to prove ourselves loyal, obedient, and worthy of God's mercy but we pull back. Whether out of fear, greed, laziness, disobedience, etc. Whatever the reason or whatever the excuse, we miss out on many great blessings because we do not seize the opportunity. If there is call for workers, we should be at the front of the line. A call for prayer, the first ones at the altar. A call for donations, willing and ready to give. A song? Ready to sing. If we want God to use us let us show him that we are willing to let him prepare us and then use us. If we want others to have confidence in us let us become the examples Godly people that the Corinthians became. They weren't always this way, but they allowed God to work in them and they had faith enough to believe in the one that was leading them. Let us look into our own hearts diligently seeking to improve to the point that when God looks down on us that he likes what he sees and that when our leaders look at us they are confident that God has given us what we need to fulfill our callings. How great it is when they who have the rule over us can trust us with holy things and can have confidence in us in all things!! Seek for it, go after it, and receive it, in Jesus' name!!!! Have a great day!!!
