Daily Bread 5-30-16

Matthew 9:2

And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven of thee.

ref. - Mk 2:3 - And they come to him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

Luke 5:18 - And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him

Ps 32:1,2 - Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Lk 5:20 - And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

There is nothing! No, no, nothing! Too great that our Savior cannot do!! When we are in need physically he is there! When we are in need spiritually he is there! WE are more than a fortunate people for this savior and his benefits! Just as Paul said that the most important gift is prophecy, Christ shows us that the great set miracle is that of salvation! Sure, he could heal the world with a blink of his eye if he wanted to, he could have healed this man with the palsy and sent him on his way with an unclean heart but no. Not our Savior! When he does something he has the "long haul" in mind. Sort of like the saying, "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach him to fish and he will feed a nation", Christ showed his wisdom in this scripture. Sure, there were many people that just wanted to see it done the way they wanted it done and they had worked hard to get the man there so somehow they thought they knew what was best. But, as always, Christ knew what this man needed first over all other healing, he needed salvation. Let us simplify; if you went to your mom when you were little with a thorn in your finger from a rose bush, she could just take the thorn out, right? Or, she could take the rose bush out of your play area and put it in a place where you could not get to it until you had enough wisdom to know how to handle it or not to handle it at all. Which would help? Of course, the latter. If she just pulled the thorn you would end up with another thorn. Well, Christ is the same with us. He could heal us of our sicknesses and send us back out into the world to be devoured by sin, or he could cast our sins away and then let God's will be done in our lives. Sometimes telling us that this sickness is not unto death, sometimes showing the world that they who endure to the end, even through pain and suffering, will die with a clean conscience toward God and make heaven their home. But this we must know, brothers and sisters, the miracles of God are not to be questioned! They are to be revered, and to be amazed by! When in doubt we must get on our knees and ask God to do his will in our lives. If we are in need of salvation, let me tell you, the answer will come through salvation so until there is a prayer of faith and repentance, there is no prayer. So, when Christ says, his sins be forgiven, watch and listen, there will be many signs and wonders to follow!!! Have a great day!!!
